1 Kings 18
36 At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: "O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37 Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again."
38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

The background to this verses was when Elijah was the only prophet of God left, compared to 450 of baal's(one of the gods the israelites were worshipping) prophets. He challenged these prophets to ask their god to set their sacrifice on fire. In addition, he even placed our Lord's sacrifice in water. The prophets of baal could not do it, even after they cut themselves and called on the name of baal to no avail. But God answered after Elijah called upon him just once!

in v 38 we see that 38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

This God that we serve does not look at numbers and he is SOVERIGN over ALL circumstances! PRAISE GOD! All we have to pray and God will listen from heaven!

In his service,
Joshua
